Tile Tips for your Bathroom By Craig Friesen

Adding or changing your bathroom tile can dramatically alter its appeal. Begin with bathroom floor tile then discover what else bathroom decorative tile can do to make this room more than functional.

Tile can look good on almost any surface in the bathroom. Spend some time thinking about how much bathroom tile you can afford to install, who will install it, and most importantly what it should look like when complete.

Is Bathroom Decorative Tile an Oxymoron?

You can tell a lot about a person by walking into their bathroom. For some people it is a necessary room and nothing more. Yet with the right selection of bathroom tile this room can host long enjoyable baths and be a source of pride rather than embarrassment when company comes. Just adding a nice bathroom floor tile design can move first impressions from function to favor.

Where to Start?

I would suggest beginning with the bathroom floor tiles. Visit a home décor center or flooring warehouse and see the bathroom decorative tile designs that are available. If you have already measured your floor space, then you can estimate what it will cost to install a particular bathroom tile design.

Once you have chosen your bathroom floor tile and before you begin installation, decide if you are going to add some tile to the walls. Choose a wall style that compliments your bathroom floor tile and if possible make this color lighter than the floor.

If you are not sure about placing bathroom tile on the walls, consider adding bathroom decorative tile to just the 3 walls enclosing your bath tub. If cost is a large factor in your decision, you can always match bathroom tile with wallpaper trim, a shower curtain, or vanity accessories.
