Handling a Roof Crisis
If you live in certain sections of the United States that are prone to violent storms, then you know the type of damage that they can cause. Roofs are especially vulnerable to damage and are often the first to go in a hurricane or tornado. You need to be aware of the steps to take if your roof gets damaged by a storm in order to lessen the effects of the damage on your home and your family. If your roof is damaged during a storm, you need to have plastic tarps ready to cover the holes. This will keep rain from entering your home and causing water damage. Plastic tarps can be found at any local home and garden center. The next day, you should survey the damage and record it with a mini camera. This will be a big help for your insurance company when they do their own investigation. Remove any trees or limbs that may be piercing your roof if you can.
