Starting a New Lawn
Here are some basic tips for starting and maintaining a new lawn. First, check the acidity of your lawn. Add some limestone to increase the pH (limestone won't hurt blades that you already have in place). Next, distribute the seed evenly by beginning in the middle of your lawn and working out on both sides. Lightly rake your seed to encourage a good soil to seed contact. Cover the seeded area with pine straw and keep the top half inch of the soil moist. Maintain your lawn by watering and mowing as needed.
