Maximize Your Attic Space
Here's an incredibly simple and basic idea that will literally triple the amount of storage in your attic space. Use plywood and 2x4s to create shelves in the framework of your attic. Measure the length and width between the framework arms, get inexpensive lumber and cut it to specifications, and then drive heavy duty nails in as attachments. these shelves are perfect for plastics storage bins full of clothes, boxes of holiday decorations, and anything else in between. For heavier items, use some 90 degree metal shelf supports to give you added strength. It really helps to make multiple levels of shelving for maximum storage space.

I once tried this trick with my shed, and it worked really well. The 90-degree shelf supports add a lot of stability, no matter how much weight you're storing.
